10-Mile Netwalk to raise funds for Bury Hospice!
On a crisp summer morning, a group of enthusiastic professional business walkers gathered at The Burrs Country Park in Bury, the starting point of the much-anticipated 10-mile Netwalk event lead by The Sunnywood Project.
The goal was not just to stretch our legs and enjoy the beautiful scenery and networking, but to raise money for a cause dear to our hearts: supporting Bury Hospice. This event combined the benefits of physical exercise, networking, and charity, making it a memorable and impactful day for everyone involved.
The event kicked off with an inspiring speech from the hospice's corporate fundraiser, Nina, who highlighted the importance of the services they provide. From offering compassionate end-of-life care to supporting grieving families, our local hospice plays a crucial role in our community. With this in mind, we set off with a renewed sense of purpose.
The final mile was filled with a sense of accomplishment and determination. As we crossed the finish line, cheers erupted, and there was a tangible feeling of triumph. Not only had we completed the 10-mile walk, but we had also raised a significant amount of money for Bury Hospice. Each step we took was a step towards providing essential services for those in need.
At the end of the walk, participants gathered for a celebration. There were refreshments, thank-you speeches, and a raffle featuring items donated by local businesses. It was a joyous occasion, with everyone basking in the shared achievement. The funds raised from the event will go directly towards improving Bury Hospice’s facilities, funding patient care, and supporting bereavement services.
Let’s continue to walk, connect, and contribute, ensuring that Bury Hospice can provide comfort and care to those who need it most. Here's to many more steps in the right direction!
